In 2020, as the world stood still during the pandemic, TAQA Entertainment faced a pivotal moment. Our roots in music were shaken as our customer base vanished overnight. But from that disruption came clarity: our true mission was to cultivate global family closeness through entertainment that speaks to all generations.
Enter Oli, a young elephant whose journey mirrors our own. In Oli’s Congo River Run, he plays hide and seek with his family—only to lose them in the dense Congo. But driven by love and connection, Oli overcomes obstacles to reunite with them. His story became our story.
With no prior experience in game development or Unity, we released the first version of Oli’s Congo River Run on Google Play and the Apple App Store. It garnered 1,500 downloads—a modest start, but a powerful proof of concept. We knew we had something special.
Fueled by passion and a team of artists, animators, programmers, and sound designers (many of whom joined without the promise of pay), we rebuilt the game from the ground up. In 2022, Oli’s Congo River Run 2 launched—and the response was overwhelming:

Even when technical setbacks threatened our progress—like recurring build failures that caused the game to be removed from the Play Store for nearly a year—we persevered. With support from engineers, programmers and SBA funding, we brought Oli back stronger than ever.
Today, TAQA Entertainment is building a global community. From the U.S. to the UK, India, Bangladesh, Brazil, Philippines, Pakistan, Africa, France and many other countries, we’ve seen firsthand how Oli’s story touches hearts. Our trans-IP strategy is expanding Oli’s universe beyond gaming, and while funding challenges have delayed new titles, our vision remains clear: Entertainment that brings families together—no matter the age, no matter the distance.
